‘I am big enough to admit that I am often inspired by myself.’ – Leslie Knope
Yep. That's it. We don't need others to inspire us. We just need to look to ourselves. Self-love, self-confidence, self-inspiration and self-care.
So as my favorite girl, Leslie Knope, says, here's to being big enough to admit you're worth gaining inspiration from – during this season of love – and in all the seasons ahead.
Now, if you don't know who Leslie Knope is…check out the television show ‘Parks and Recreation’. Leslie LOVES her girlfriends and wants to lift them up and celebrate with them on February 13th. She called it ‘Galentine's Day’ and Galentine's Day it has been ever since.
This is what she says: ‘Every February 13, my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home, and we just come and kick it breakfast-style. Ladies celebrating ladies.'
Don't you just love that?
Celebrate YOU anytime of the year.
February is the season of love.
It is also the season of social distancing and not being able to meet your girlfriends for breakfast. So, I would like to suggest that you celebrate yourself today.
Make a list of all the wonderful and unique qualities that make you….well, you. Not sure? Ask a close friend or family member to help you out.
Because, there is ALWAYS a silver lining. There is ALWAYS good. There is ALWAYS something to celebrate. There are ALWAYS unique qualities that belong to you that are awesome and amazing.
This morning, I created this for YOU. It's FREE. Begin YOUR list of wonderful and unique qualities that make you…you. Camp out on them and celebrate today. Go on…inspire yourself! (no sign up required).
And just in case you need ideas for you to celebrate you on your own personal Galentine's Day…
Take a few minutes (or hours) and read a good book.
Go for a long walk or bike ride.
Go for a drive and look at the scenery.
Ignore your to-do list.
Call up your girlfriends and catch up.
Cook or bake something ‘non essential’ and fun.
Eat a few more calories than your fitness app says you can.
As you consider who you are and what makes you awesome…and can't find anything because you are struggling with yourself right now check out ‘Are You Worthy?’ Because the answer is YES you are – you are so worthy.
PS – I found this on google for you:
“Galentine's Day” is the 16th episode of the second season of the American comedy television series Parks and Recreation, and the 22nd overall episode of the series.
Again, enjoy this day set aside for YOU.
Celebrate YOU today…
