Don't you just LOVE going on vacation? I know I do for sure. I so look forward to a break from my routine. Spending time with my family or friends. Without out the to-do lists and regular things that need to get done.
One of my greatest fears is that I will forget something. Which is kinda crazy cause I can always go to the store and buy what I forgot, right? Unless I am going to Africa…I think I can find what I need on vacation. It's just that I really don't want to take a break from my vacation and go find what I forgot. Now, you might just LOVE going shopping 🙂
Anyway, to help me, and you, out – I created this ‘Vacation Packing List'.
Now, I don't know about you...but there seems to be a lot to do before going on vacation. Like double time to do. Do you find that too or is that just me?
Scrambling to get all the supplies needed. Laundry. Ironing, Finding the suitcases and airing them out. Making sure that bathing suits still fit, water shoes can be found. New and un-expired sunscreen purchased. It's like the NEVER ending list. As I am working hard to get it all organized, and sometimes wonder if it is worth it, I keep my eye on the prize. The VACATION.
And then there is the coming home part…which in itself is a whole other story! After spending time away from the normal routines it is hard to reenter to all the things. Maybe you got to sleep in. Or even read a book. Or maybe even a date night. Ahh….vacation bliss. Personally, I love not planning meals and cooking. Kitchen clean up is ok with me…I know that is the end of what I need to do.
Not counting going through all of the mail, doing the laundry and getting ready for work or school the next day. Which includes grocery shopping, packing lunches, finding homework and backpacks. PLUS all of the things that you personally need. Typically I try and come home so that I have an extra day to get organized. But that is not always possible.
Back in the day, I used to travel with my husband every other week. My son was a baby at the time and he needed a LOT of gear. Stroller, pack-n-play, diapers, wipes, extra clothes, bibs…you get the picture!
I was so afraid of forgetting something that I created a list. It was a check list that I kept inside a cabinet door so that I had access every time. And boy did it work. At the time we were living in England and traveling to Switzerland. I definitely did not want to forget anything.
Go on and grab the Vacation Packing List. Normally it is part of my Joyful Living Toolbox…but in order to help you out it is free today. Just click HERE
Print it out and add your items. This way you won't forget a thing – hopefully.
The Joyful Living Toolbox is part of my never ending quest in encouraging women to choose joy….everyday. Things, to-do's and lists in themselves do NOT create joy in us. But if those lists can take a tad of the stress out of preparation, if your plate is a little cleaner, it is easier to take a look around and choose joy.
But what happens when you are home and NOT on vacation? Are things overwhelming?
And sometimes, when you are overwhelmed, stress sets in.
And when stress sets in it is sometimes difficult to be happy or joyful. So, please don’t let stress have the last word!
Go on and take a look at the ‘Top 5 Stress Reducers’ (Action Plan included). So that you can eliminate what causes you stress and get on the path of living a joyful life.
Joyful Living is ALL about not letting let the circumstances of YOUR life determine who you really are. You learn to choose YOU instead! Not sure how to do that? Let me help!
