Sometimes I have an idea for a blog post I want to write and just start typing. Since ALL of my posts require an image, I go looking for one that will blend with my post. And then sometimes I will find an image…and my mind-set changes completely and I write a different post.
This is one of those images.
I don't know what it is about those hands holding that pumpkin out that hit an emotional note inside of me. She is holding it gently. And I feel like she is handing it to me. I feel as if it is a gift that is being given. I feel ever so grateful for that gift.
Then a feeling of thankfulness came over me. Do you see or feel what I do?
With that feeling of thankfulness I needed to pause and count my blessings – literally.
Thankful. Grateful. Appreciative.
The blessings that come with the cooler weather are upon me. I know that Thanksgiving is around the corner and then there is Christmas – my most fave holiday of ALL time. I am usually in a ‘rush to get it done' mode by now but, for many reasons, this year I am not in that mode.
Yes, I am busy…I am ALWAYS busy. But not so busy that I can't pause and give thanks.
I am so grateful for my family. My husband of 40 years. My 4 children. My 3 ‘new' children (via marriage). My grandchildren.
I am thankful for my mom, sisters and brother.
I am thankful for the many friends that I have made through my travels in this world.
I am thankful that I live indoors and have food on the table.
I am thankful that I am healthy.
I am thankful that Jesus saved me and gave me a new redeemed life.
I am thankful for YOU, my blog reader. Because without you I would not be writing this post.
I would like to encourage you…
To take a minute and give thanks. To experience the feeling of thankfulness. To count your blessings, even if you have to search deep to find them. There is always a blessing.
And, if you have not had a chance to read ‘Gratitude Changes Attitude‘ please do. There is a FREE download for you too.
