Same background…2 different cards.
This just goes to show you…the possibilities are endless. No wonder I have crafting stress! haha.
I used Distress Oxide Inks to make the backgrounds for these Slimline Christmas Cards. Now, ink blending is NOT my speciality so I like to hide it with other elements – like shaker bits and snow.
The top card features a BLIZZARD! I wanted to use the cute stamp set by Hero Arts – Happy Autumn Forest (I saw a cabin in the woods in snow!) and my Snow Tex. And, yes, I did use a lot of Snow Tex!
The top slimline Christmas card is a shaker card. I used Simon Says Stamp – Holiday Sparkle stamps and dies. I love how this card came out.
I also made custom envelopes for each card using the Trinity Stamps Slimline Envelope Builder die set.

For these 2 cards I used:
- Distress Oxide Inks
- Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tools and Applicators
- Trinity Stamps Slimline Envelope Builder
- Lawn Fawn Jet Black Ink
- Gina K and Simon Says Stamp Envelopes
In the above Slimline Christmas Card:
- I blended Distress Oxide Inks on Neenah 110# cardstock.
- Snowflakes were stamped onto the background with Lawn Fawn Winter Skies Stamp set and heat embossed with Brutus Monroe Alabaster Embossing Powder.
- The cabin and trees were stamped and cut out with the Hero Arts Happy Autumn Forest Set.
- I colored it all with Copic markers.
- The card background was cut out with Pink Fresh Slimline Stitched Rectangle
- And then the snow came…and it just did not stop! I used Snow Tex. LOVE this stuff.
