Listen to the podcast:
Girls floating in swimming pools holding drinks in a coconut! Can it get any more perfect than that? My Favorite Things has the BEST shaker pouches – I buy all of them every time they come out. This time I made 12 cards. I have a few girlfriends and family members who would love these cards. Wonder who they will be….:)
Did I hear you say ‘How did you make the pool backgrounds?’ Check out the video. Very simple and so so fun as well. I also made a ‘bonus’ card out of the scraps I cut off of the blue backgrounds – gotta love a bonus card.
Check out the video above for all of the how to’s –
Supplies used for all the cards –
Pool Background –
Distress Oxide Inks – Mermaid Lagoon [SBC | EH], Peacock Feathers [SBC | EH], Blueprint Sketch [SBC | EH], Salty Ocean [SBC | EH]
Simon Says Stamp Fog ink and Fog Cardstock
MFT Stamps Drink Up the Sunshine Stamp [EH | SSS] and Die sets [EH | SSS]
MFT Stamps Swimming Pool Die [EH| SSS]
MFT Stamps Swimming Pool Shaker Pouch [EH| SSS]
MFT Stamps Simply Cheers Die [EH| SSS]
Simon Says Stamp Grid Stencil
Gina K Envelopes

The process is the same for all of the cards. I made the blue backgrounds with Distress Oxide Inks (links above and in thumbnails below).
I used The Simon Says Stamp Grid Stencil for the ‘pavement’ around the pool with Simon Says Stamp Fog Ink.
I colored all the images with Copic Markers.
The black ink is Gina K Amalgam ink [GK | EH]
Sequins are from Little Things and Simon Says Stamp.

I put glossy accents on the sunglasses and when dry, added a line with my white gel pen.

I used the Echo Park Spash stencil with the Distress Oxide Inks for this background.

I used the MFT Stamps Over the Rainbow paper for the border around the pool. It reminded me of grass.

I used a stencil with the Distress Oxide inks for this pool background. The stencil is Echo Park Sail Away.

I sure hope you love them. The retailers that I have linked still have the products in stock – so head on over before they are all gone.
