I am always looking for new products that will keep that dry winter skin at bay. I also want products that are all natural and won't harm me at all. Since skin is our biggest organ, we need to be really careful in what we choose.
Generally, I am not a fan of sugar scrubs. I find them rough on my body…almost scratchy. So, I wasn't sure what to expect.
First – the smell is great. It isn't a holiday smell or a sweet smell…it's almost earthy. I then discovered that it is finely milled sandalwood powder…so nice.
Second – it is so soft. The sugar does not scratch or irritate. The sandalwood powder is mixed with Kaolin Clay.
Third – my skin felt soft and smooth all day. Not dry or itchy.
Well, since I had NO idea what that was I did a bit of research for you. Kaolin Clay comes from the mineral Kaolinite. It is used a lot in skin care. Here are a few of the benefits:
Gently cleanses the skin.
Purifies and detoxifies pores by removing dirt, germs, etc.
Soothes sensitive skin.
Great for skin exfoliating by removing dead cells and dry flaky skin.
Improves skin elasticity.
Reduces skin irritations – like poison ivy, bug bites and rashes.
Now, I don't know about you, but I LOVE all of those benefits. This is directly from the True Botanicals website:
In my quest to ‘kick dry skin to the curb‘ I am very excited that True Botanicals has introduced this True Botanicals Pure Radiance Sugar Scrub. I will definitely pair this with my other favorite body products and emerge in March (when it warms up here in Georgia) with the smoothest and softest skin on the block… well, maybe just my household!
