We were in the process of cooking a Boston Butt (pork butt) on the Green Egg and I was looking for a coleslaw recipe to go with the pulled pork.
Now, I have made tons of coleslaw. I have tried vinegar based and mayonnaise based. And they were all good but just seemed to be missing something! So, I went to the internet to find another recipe. But, which one? How would I know which one I would like better? I thought about all of the coleslaw I have eaten through the years and tried to figure out which ones I loved.
And then it hit me, I love Chick-fil-A Coleslaw the best! (I should say loved…it is no longer available and I was very sad when they took it off of the menu). It had just the right amount of dressing, wasn't too sweet or plain. So, during my search I looked up Chick-fil-A Coleslaw. I found a ton of recipes but wasn't happy with any. Why? Well, I found that that the reason I loved their coleslaw so much was the added sugar. Like so much sugar. Gosh…I really don't need so much sugar in my food! Save the sugar for dessert!
So, I came up with my own Chick-fil-A Coleslaw recipe. My family loved it. Hopefully you will too!
