Card Making Blog Posts | Positively Jane

Card making is my total jam and love language right now. I love hanging out in my craft room, grabbing supplies and trying to figure out what to make….because the options are endless! Sometimes I suffer from ‘craft stress.’ So much paper and so little time.

As I create cards, and other paper crafting projects, I will post them right here. PLUS, most of them have ‘how to’ videos for you to take a look at. Maybe you can gather a few tips & tricks that will help your card making projects go a bit quicker.

My favorite thing about card making and paper crafting is giving it all away. I send about 10 cards a month...a lost art that I am trying to keep alive.

5 handmade cards for valentines day featuring Anita Jeram stamps

Colorado Craft Company and Anita Jeram have HIT. IT. OUT. OF. THE. PARK. In my humble opinion. They came out with a bunch of new stamps last winter…and have continued to release them over the past 3ish months. This is the 1st time I have had an opportunity to play around and make cards. I […]

2 handmade christmas cards

I love painting with Perfect Pearls Powder. The versatility of this powder amazes me. A great product for your stash.

2 christmas cards

Shaker cards! Yay. Yay.  I love making and receiving a shaker card. Simon Says Stamp came out with some clear acetate sheets this year and I love them. They are meant to be foiled (video explains it all) and foil I did. I love the large shaker window with the pattern paper showing through. Don’t […]

4 cards that fold out

Trifold cards are so fun to receive, don’t you think? Sometimes creating trifold cards can be cumbersome and time consuming to make. This Concord & 9th Joy Trifold die makes it so easy. I mean really easy! Add a few flowers…or even a skating polar bear and you have some great trifold cards. I used […]

6 cards on a table that say warm hugs

How about some ink blending on cards? Fast and simple is my middle name right now. Gotta get it done! Right?! I created these backgrounds with Distress Inks. I had NO plan.  Just added the ink, spritzed with a bunch of water, set them aside to try…and viola – beautiful backgounds. I created 4 cards […]

Gift tags with cute girls on them

MFT Stamps sure knows how to make the sweetest girls? Don’t you agree? I just love how these Pure Innocence Gift Tags turned out! I wanted to show you that you can make tags with coloring and without coloring…options are always great don’t you think? I colored the top row with Copic Alcohohl Ink Markers. […]

snowflake cards and gift tags

Have you ever used Perfect Pearls Powder? Nope? Me neither. Jennifer McGuire made a video and I loved the technique. So, I bought the supplies and played with them. I used one of her cards as my practice…and then went on to create my own designs. Perfect Pearls is easy to use and creates a […]

Messy Watercolor – YES that is a thing! I love die cut flowers and leaves. I love the layering and the great depth that the layering gives you. Sometimes I want to ‘step it up’ a bit. And, in my usual Jane ‘let’s get it done’ mentality, I slapped on some watercolor. Yup. I slapped […]

sliding pop up cards

Don’t you just LOVE interactive cards?! Cards with a surprise are so fun.  How about a sweet message or even a gift card tucked inside?  This Sliding Window Die from Sunny Studios sure helps to make these cards simple to make. I have included ALL of my mistakes and boo boo’s in the video!  AND […]

cards on a desk

Here I am again with pattern paper, mass producing and making gifts. Well, it is the holidays and I have all of my family and friends on my mind. What can I make that is personalized…AND that they will like and maybe even use.

gifts in different packages

One of my favorite things about making gifts is the packaging. I LOVE packaging. Sometimes what is outside is much better than what is inside. I love that too!

pattern paper gift tags lined up on a table

I really had no idea what I wanted to give out as gifts this year to my friends – I decided to make them gift tags. I made a bunch (so hard to stop – kinda like eating potato chips)! I wanted to just keep making them!
