I loved using the Altenew Hibiscus Garden 3D die set for these cards.
This is a layering die set with many pieces to make your cards stand out and look….3D. Rather than cutting each layer out of different colored cardstock I decided to cut them all out of watercolor paper. I glued the layers together and then plopped watercolor on top. Literally plopped.
There was ZERO technique. I mixed the watercolor with water and painted. When it was dry I added another layer in the center and kept doing that until I was satisfied with the way they looked.
The large broad leaves have 2 layers that I did separately (one dark and one light) and then glued them together.
I splattered white and black paint on top after they dried.
Do I have a video – no :(.
Give them a try – they really are easy to do. I love the way they came out.
For all of the cards I used –
Altenew Hibiscus Garden 3D Die set
Gina K Designs or Simon Says Stamp envelopes
Altenew Beautiful Inside for sentiments inside the cards
Envelope stamp – The Stamp Market Hand Stamped stamp (that is a lot of stamps!)
Neenah 110# cardstock
Strathmore Ready Cut watercolor paper (5 x
Basic paint brushes
Altenew Watercolors, Daniel Smith watercolors and Kuretake watercolors
Supplies used for the above card:
Memory Box Large Circle Burst die
Dymo label maker for the sentiment (love doing this)

Beautiful cards! I love that you just “plopped” the ink. That’s a technique I can handle – haha. I will have to give it a try.
