In anticipation of ‘National Send a Card to a Friend Day’ (February 7th) I needed to quickly make some cards. Jennifer McGuire had a guest on her blog and she made backgrounds with Alcohol Inks and a hair dryer. I loved the technique and wanted to give it a try! I bought my hair dryer on Amazon.
These cards are my 1st attempt at achieving the ‘wispy’ look. They may not be as wispy as they could be but I am thrilled at how they turned out. I just love them.
I used large die cuts and pre stamped and cut sentiment strips to complete the cards. I used Simon Says Stamp Sentiment Strips (there are many different ones to choose from) and Taylored Expressions Simple Strips Background for the sentiments.
All 8 cards were completed in less than 90 minutes. In the card making world….that is pretty fast!
Beautiful cards! I used alcohol inks years ago. Your cards, tips, and techniques are inspiring me to try them again. What foam do you use behind the background paper? I love that look!

Thanks Susan. I buy the cheap white craft foam. Usually online cause it’s cheaper.
