Hi there – I have had a busy November and December. Normally I plan and complete my Christmas gifts in the spring. That way I can enjoy my Christmas season and focus on the baking and the wrapping. This year….not so much. I didn’t make 1 cookie this year!
Not only did I purchase a Cricut Maker cutting machine and the Cricut Easy Press (and all the tools and vinyl that go along with that) I found a few sewing, stitching and paper crafting projects as well. NOT counting the 100 Christmas cards I made (that I finished on 12/15 – whew!) You can see most of the cards that I have made.
Mid October I began to make my gifts. I had a list of things to make a mile long….and did NOT complete them all. Here is what I did make….and, after writing this post, I even surprised myself! Are you ready?!
[Compensated affiliate links may be used at no cost to you.] I purchase ALL of my own supplies unless otherwise noted.)
This design is from Lorrie Nunmaker. I used placemats that I purchased from Wal-Mart. The inside is lined with plastic. I even made my own labels. I used 2 different styles of placemats. They were a BIG hit with my peeps this year. I made 24 of these.
I think I canned 20 jars of picked okra, 30 jars of my Aunt Dottie’s Sweet Pickles (recipe coming in the spring) and 20+ jars of dill pickles. A cute circle of paper and ribbon make a cute gift – great guy gifts!
This genius idea is from Sandy Alnock. I paid for the download of the scripture verses and the instructions. She supplied links to all of the supplies. This is a coupon organizer book that I cut the flaps off of. I added the twine tie. Each pocket has a decorated page with verses. Sandy supplied quite a few verses so I chose them individually and prayed for each one, with a particular person in mind.I made 12 of these.
This is another Sandy Allnock idea. The one on the top is for the guys. The one on the bottom is for the girls. I colored the one on the bottom. I made 30 of these.
This is one of my favorite gifts this year. I made 6 pair. I will make a bunch more for next year – I wanted to make sure that the socks were comfy before I made more. The text is stretchy vinyl – made on my Cricut Maker and mini Easy Press.
We had a garden this year that was not all that successful. But, I did get herbs. I took these pics before I added the labels. I dried dill, sage, rosemary, parsley, basil and a ‘mystery’ herb (I don’t know what it is). I think I made between 18-20 of these. And, drying fresh herbs is pretty darn easy!
Whoa……I’m speechless! These are all amazing (as are you)! As I scrolled down I’d think ‘oh, what cute idea’ but then when you said how many of each gift you made……well, I’m speechless!!
Thanks so much Barb….I amazed myself. It’s fun to look back and see what was accomplished and not always focus on the ‘may I didn’t get this done’ page. Note to self. Don’t forget to enter the giveaway. And, if you don’t mind sharing all Positively Jane has to offer that would be great
Your gifts are incredible! How lucky your friends and family were to receive such lovely, handmade presents. Just when I thought I couldn’t be more impressed, I scrolled down and was dazzled by the next item! You have inspired me to make handmade gifts a goal for next Christmas. Thank you for all of the ideas.
As always, you’ve outdone yourself! I am always amazed at your creativity and the way you so generously share your creations! Hope y’all had a wonderful holiday season. Miss you!
Thanks so much Carla – hope you had a great Christmas and 2020 is off to a good start. Remind me to tell you about Phit-n-Phat. You can google it. An amazing program which I will endorse in about 6 months (after I see my results)
